Just a quick update about my artwork,

I need to get my ass into gear and get my list of –things to do- cut down; basically I’m getting less and less motivated with deviant art, oh it has served me so well for all the years ive been on here! 6 years now?

I am in the process of getting my website sorted out and still tweaking my art book that will be available soon –I hope-

Once I get my website sorted ill probably be less involved with deviant art, I just find it hard to put the time in…
And I really need a professional website!

Thanks for all the support even though I’m hardly on here anymore!

BIOGRAPHY

Tegan Coddington was born in 1986 in Perth Western Australia growing up in quiet suburbs close to the city with her parents and younger sister.
Since a child Tegan was always drawing and always had a vivid imagination with a spice for the magical and the strange.  Her favorite childhood movies were the last unicorn, the yellow submarine, Legend, willow, and fantasia, which other children at the same age wouldn’t much enjoy or relate to.

Tegan went to Balcatta senior high school and specialized in Special art until year 11. Although she always did well in art yet found that art school didn’t teach her much with her own art yet it did give her exposure to different art mediums like oil and acrylic paint, clay, wire, ink, charcoals, digital graphics, wood and metal.
Tegan favorite medium to create is still watercolor pencils, though she does enjoy painting and plans to get more involved with paint in the future.

In early teens Tegan took an interest in the gothic and alternative culture and fashion, along with her own appearance her art took the darker interest, her earlier images were always full of cuts, guts and blood, her recent works are much more toned down but still keep some of the macabre themes. Horror movies, metal or hardcore music inspired her art as well as the darker fashions.
Tegan left high school at completion of year 11. She hated school but kept on drawing. Her images of creepy dark lands with beautiful twisted women bearing marks of tattoos, piercing, tight laced rubber or lace reflect Tegan sometimes in appearance unconsciously and her tastes in her own view of beauty. Other than the fashion of high gloss ‘snap your ankle’ heels, overzealous tattoo ink and tight lace corsets her other creative influences are the artists Camille rose Garcia, Mark Ryden, Michael Hussar, Trevor Brown, H R Giger, Laura Satana, Tyson McAdoo, Faffinette, Kukuland, Uncle Allen to mention a few.

From joining an online gallery called Deviant art in 2004 her artwork got the exposure she needed to make her art her Job. Due to the nature of her artwork it appealed to the alternative youth market of today which took her artwork all over Perth to rock band posters, alternative clothing shops, t-shirt designs and tattoo designs. Shortly her artwork followed to all over the world thanks to the great success of the arts popularity. She quickly started making a business with her art selling it to many clothing companies in the states and overseas, designing unique tattoo images, clothing and boutique logos to even corsets.
Her artwork is very popular in the tattoo field and she gets emailed regularly by youth who have her designs permanently etched into their flesh usually covering substantial parts of their bodies.

Tegan will always enjoy the twisted or darker side of life yet she is always growing and always developing within herself and in extension her art. Her artwork will always reflect what she enjoys and what she believes is uniquely beautiful in her own view.

OH, AND THIS JUST IN, I have almost finished my own Glittersniffer art book! its going to be a hardcover large coffee table book! This book will be available for sale within the next month! very exciting!

I have found it difficult to sit down and work on anything arty for myself of late, its not an art block just the fact that I’m up and about more lately and don’t seem to have the energy to sit around putting my ideas onto paper I’m very active and most of my days consist of a lot of min projects that I’m running around to get completed.
I’m also dedicating most of my time to commission work than personal works.
I love my commission jobs and I always have them on the go, so it keeps me busy and keeps my artistic juices flowing to a satisfying level

I had to pop in and say hello since my deviant art page has been looking rather sad and neglected of late, on a completely different note -yes I am addicted to facebook…and that's where I am most days, well between work and eating and sleeping! This is because it's a super place to stay in touch with all my friends when I cant see them during the week and I would rather pollute facebook of my personal silly updates than my –art site- deviant art.

I am being creative lately but its always to do with other peoples designs and I cant share them like I share my own personal designs due to customers paying good money for special pieces not to be taken as clipart by others. Fair call and all…

A lot has happened in my life in the last few months…
Id say if I where to sum up what's happened in sound it would go something like this..
Whooommpppfff….plooop…squiFFF…squeee…splosh…whhiiirrr …blink
…mm yeah I dunno if I have spelt them out at best for you guys to really get what I'm trying to say but yes its been a delicious cocktail of stress and good times! I am now currently doing ok nothing serious to do with my art! Just the normal stuff…
The usual stuff like friends going through hard times and sadly my most precious romantic relationship coming to an end.
But everyone I care about is doing much better now, and so I am doing better now myself

I have come to a new chapter and hopefully all this stuff will inspire some new pieces –if I could simply find the time-

Yet I always feel bad for saying –find the time-
If you don't know me… I do like to party a lot… so I always keep a healthy balance between my art and my play time… sometimes vodka and lime just seems more appealing than a dark desk and a blank piece of paper…
But hey…ill never give up my first passion my art!

Hey I am after a good/average digital camera to start my love of photographs and self-portraits.

Its something I have wanted to get into but being such an armature I’m lost when it comes to what camera to buy, lenses and all that jazz!


I would appreciate anyone’s input if you have experience with a camera that seems to do a nice job!

The top features I want my camera to have are -
I’m after a camera that’s at least 10 mp
Has a self-timer
And can be used with a remote control

I don’t care for video.

It’s just hard to know what brand to go for and what kind of camera will be enough for little starter like me! I want something good…but I wont need anything too flashy *like a brand new model* since I’m just starting out!

Anyones input would be AMAZING!

It is officially busy season!
I feel like I have been away from deviant art for far too long, even though I have submitted some work –its all been commissioned work for other clothing companies and not for own personal joy!

I just celebrated the biggest and best birthday of my life the past weekend, I am now 23 –everything around this past few weeks has been busy with plans of big events, x mass gift hunting and commission jollies!

I do hope I can be back on here with my usual swing of my own designs and what not,…but im feeling the creepy crawly feeling that this is now the busy season and from here to x mas I might be all over the place and not so active in places as I wish to be!

But none the less I do really appreciate the great feedback I have received form my work these past few weeks and the support of upcoming tattoo and other types of commission work! I really love what I do and I just want to do as much as I can with my work

Had a super halloween and a super weekend..
Now back to reality.
I got lots to get onto but its all jobs that are exciting!
I recently got a new waft of inspiration… mainly thanks to tattoo magazines.

I also managed to make my two tattoo appointments into three tattoo appointments, two for November and two for December…
Its really annoying because I have had to chase my tattoo artists around a few different shops now…she keeps moving!
Her work is so worth it…but it makes it hard to book with her!

Everything is running smoothly…
I haven't been updating on my personal work much here to deviant art but that's not to say I haven't been drawing my ass off!

I am back from Melbourne now! It was super!!!
I am raring to go with my commission works again now and hopefully some personal artwork! I have braved my emails and deviant art notes! Great to see such support!

I had a great time going away! It was wonderful to rekindle a strong, old and important friendship that is dearly close to my heart once again with my friend Sam!


I feel like the earth is shifting… into new brighter light! I see a lot of people in my life growing for the better… becoming more into their own and not being afraid to fight for what they want… or go for what they want!
Its so lovely to see people gain more and more of their own beautiful identities and become much more playful, daring and bold!

I guess now that I think about it we are slowly sliding along with most of the people I know into our mid to late twenties even to early thirties! ( I know I’m still so young lol ) at least no one asks for id when I buy booze anymore! Hahaha
Maybe I am just picking up the fact that a lot of people start growing up at this time… BUT NO…not becoming adult’s…naa we are always going to be children at heart! But just much better at seeing the world and shedding the old daggy skin of the whiny teenager who clings to grudges and negatives like a second skin!

I really need to get back into my drawing and go back to work! Yey im happy to be back!

COMMISSION

I get a couple of emails weekly asking how my commissions work, so I just thought I would put a clear rundown on my journal.

I am always open to create commissions for people.
Commission means –art/designs for purchase $$-
I do not have the time to do –freebees or requests-
There is no one subject in which I like to design for I have done work for –band merch, t-shirt companies, logos, personal portraits/pieces and most popularly tattoo designs!

If you are after a design from me you need to contact me through email or private note on deviant art and give me a rough idea of what your after.
I will quote you a price
I will send you photos of the sketch
And will email you the final product in high resolution 300dpi

The final design will NOT be uploaded to deviant art unless the client gives permission to do so.

A lot of people get my artwork tattooed - that you can find in my public gallery here on deviant art I have no problem with people getting my artwork tattooed,
Just please send me photos! I love to see my art on skin!
But my work is copy written and I do not grant permission for my art to be used in any other way unless permission has been granted from the soul artist –myself-
