This was inspired by the song The Noose by the beautiful A Perfect Circle- Thirteenth Step album. The song just gets to me every time its on it is one of those things.
The Noose So glad to see you well Overcome and completely silent now With Heaven's help You cast your demons out And not to pull your halo down Around your neck and tug you off your cloud But I'm more than just a little curious How you're planning to go about Making your amends to the dead To the dead
Recall the deeds as if They're all someone else's Atrocious stories Now you stand reborn before us all So glad to see you well
And not to pull your halo down Around your neck and tug you to the ground But I'm more than just a little curious How you're planning to go about Making your amends to the dead To the dead
With your halo slipping down Your halo slipping Your halo slipping down Your halo slipping down Your halo slipping down (repeated)
Your halo slipping down to choke you now.
. It is a beautiful sounding song but it also has an interesting point to it, like a lot of Perfect circle and Tool music. The image that I drew was just something that kinda popped into my mind when I would listen to the song, It does not reach out and tickle all of the meaning to the songs words or anything like that Just like I had said it was simply the image that came dancing out of the tip of my pen as the song drifted over me. Its just innocence being stripped down to something none other than greed and/or pride Some people need this to be done, some people deserve it. Need to be removed from their cloud that hovers oh so high above us all All of us others, all of us the sinners.
oh and there are things that bother me here, her tattoo is fucked but it was difficult since i had done all the back shading before hand and repeating the same image on the other side of her sholderblade was difficult. the shadowing is not the grandest but i don't mind it all that much .... its like an test for me ... the more i try the better i shal get so this is stage one -just though i would point them out otherwise people will annoy me by making sure i notice my own mistakes
oooooooh!
a perfect circle! i've got thic cd too one of my fav songs! (i love NIN remix od Judith ;])
and i thik, that this picture is great! gosh, luv the idea!
The pose is stupendous!!
What's even more stunning is that despite the subject, it's not a morbid picture although it sure is quite melancholic.
And the tattoo design on her back is beautiful, precisely because it's not completely symmetrical (i think i'll use it for when i finally get the time to get tattooed... at least the top wings )
