This was an experiment that came out pretty well …
This is Ashka one of my long overdue to be drawn characters, I wanted to concentrate on her design and who she is… express that within a picture throughout her pose and/or expression.

A little information on Ashka for those who have not heard much about her;
Ashka is deaf- but can certainly lip read like a charm and use hand symbols.
She is rather silent, submissive and keeps to herself but her boyfriend Darius is total opposite and can be cruel and sometimes rather nasty to her ….
Ashka is pretty unstable, unknown of what she really deserves as she suffers in silence. Although portrayed as an innocent looking victim she has her own poison and has an odd sharp edge.

I want to try and work on all my characters in future because at the moment they are all too similar and without having their own little bite they just blur into one another with their similar face shape and characteristics.

Anyway …this image is hard to compare with my older drawings of Ashka, simply for the fact that my mood has been darker for certain reasons most of you know, the image has a rather serious tone to it… and I have not drawn my characters in so long that my work of them seems really old and almost daggy compared to my newer stuff.

My style is developing each time I sit down to draw I find and so it is constantly changing … I am trying my best to define certain aspects of this although there will continue to be the odd rough and almost abstract images as always; [link] .You see unlike my character profile drawings my other artwork is totally based on emotion or feeling of an event or some sort.
